What I will missed most of being a lecturer

Today was a hectic day. It was so hectic that I forgot to eat for lunch, I noticed that I forgot lunch after my hands were shacking and I felt dizzy during one of the presentation. Therefore I excuses myself to get a quick lunch on one of the stalls by the beach. I asked the earlier audience whether any of them had any Pizza Hut number, but unfortunately Pizza Hut Labuan decided that UMSKAL is too far for them to offer their delivery service. Too bad for the earlier audience for not having me buying them free lunch and too bad for you Pizza Hut Labuan, you will be definitely be in my black listed places to eat in Labuan, which I now have about 20 restaurants and eating places not to go to.

But the good thing was we actually had fun during the presentation, with ma’ man Mr Tam and ma’ bro Mr Zam, we had such a good time listening to the student’s business plan presentation. Not just today, yesterday’s was creative and challengingly great I was taken aback , heck last week was great too. All presented overwhelmingly great for their business plan pitch but some just stands out from the crowd no doubt about that. The best part about the earlier years of presentations was it’s all about passion and the willingness to try new things. Its fun to see presentations that was done on pure passion then the ones influenced by pressure. I mean just go to one of the final year project presentations and you know what I mean. But having been in this business for what  5? 6 years now? I tend to understand how and why it happened.

It is because we know more, the knowledge that we received were either through classes or through experiences are getting literally bigger. That is why sometimes, ignorance is a bliss. The more you know the more rational you will be , the less creative you will get and the more cautious you will think. And these processes were executed without us knowing it.

But again if I ever were to leave this place and move on, embarking on my entrepreneurial passion which I forcefully put off since 2003, days like these were the once to remember, having a good laugh with friends, learning from your own students , standing in front of a crowd sharing knowledge and experiences with them and be able to know that hey they actually learned something from me. Signing off!
